Ethyl Cellulose products are used as inhibiting materials for rocket-propellant grains.
Island Pyrochemical Industries (IPI) has been involved for many years in the development and manufacture of Ethyl Cellulose products for the rocket-propellant and ordnance industries. Ethyl Cellulose Tape
IPI manufactures ethyl cellulose tape using our unique solvent cast film process. IPI's ethyl cellulose tape possesses the highest quality surface finish and chemical stability which are unmatched in the industry. IPI tape meets or exceeds the requirements of specification MIL-T-18833 and MIL-F-63463 as well as many other international military specifications.
- End Inhibitor/End Sleeves
IPI manufactures various types of End Inhibitors and End Sleeves for different propellant grains. Listed below are US part numbers that identify some of the more common End Inhibitor and End Sleeves that are produced by IPI are listed below with their respective Part Numbers:

- Ethyl Cellulose Molding Compound
IPI manufactures various ethyl cellulose compounds suitable for injection molding and film extrusion for military and civil purposes. Our Manufacturing capabilities include the careful and precise plasticizing of the Ethyl Cellulose powder with P-1099 plasticizer. IPI manufactures the plasticizer to ensure a high quality and reliable product. Our compounds meet all the military specifications including MIL-P-22985 and MIL-P-63462.
IPI also offers a Flame-Suppressant Ethyl Cellulose, which when incorporated within the rocket propulsion system, is able to suppress the ignition plume at the time of launching. All of our Ethyl Cellulose products are manufactured in accordance with military specifications both from the United States and overseas.
